Do something! (and thank you)

Many people have asked what they can do to help (me, the situation, help in general, etc).  So I've been directing people to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Run for the Cure.  I'll be participating in Run for the Cure, with my team, Spaceships and Toddlers.  I've been doing the run (okay, let's be honest, I don't run, I walk) for many years, and this is my second year as Team Captain.  That photo over there is last year's Team Spaceships and Toddlers.

I like the Run for the Cure because it's a fundraiser of course, but also because it's doing something.  It's active.  It's fun to walk with friends, gossip, goof off, and then hang out afterwards.  It's a great way for friends and family to show support, especially when there's often not enough to say.  You don't have to say, you can do.

Oh yeah, and what's with the Spaceships and Toddlers thing?  Last year, we couldn't think of a team name.  Time was ticking, and we had to come up with something (we get team t-shirts).  The one thing we could all agree on was a Saturday Night Live sketch that was hilarious.  Watch the sketch here, and then you'll get it:

Spaceships, Toddlers, Model T. Cars & Jars of Beer

Thank you to all who have made a donation - I'm quite impressed by your generosity, and moved by your support.
