Sunday update
Ave's doing great today - we moved her into her own room today. She was also able to sit up for a short time and after her nap this afternoon the nurses will have her sitting up again as it's very good for her circulation. The surgeon also came by and said things are doing well.
We have been thinking about you all, reading your postings and Ansley's facebook entries for news. SO VERY glad to hear things are back on track and Avery is making steady progress. That's one heck of a wife you have there...and she has a pretty awesome husband too!!
I have a BRCA 1 genetic mutation (aka "The Breast Cancer Gene") that puts me at a high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. I inherited the gene from my mother, who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 52.
I'm 29 years old. I do not have cancer. I don't want to have cancer. So I'm doing everything I can, including a double mastectomy, to prevent it before it even starts. I'm having my surgery on November 12.
For more information about BRCA, visit the FORCE website.
