Feelin' good. In a nerdy way.

You gotta fake it 'til you make it.  That's kind of how I've been feeling for the past day or two.  I know that for the next week, it's super important for me to be positive, be calm, relax, etc.  And for the most part, I'm feeling that.  And the part that isn't feeling it... well, I'm just ignoring.

To be totally honest, I have a low level of panic going on.  But all my experience with panic attacks has made me uber-capable of handling it.  I'm so glad I did cognitive behaviour therapy a few years ago - now I have the skills to ignore the anxiety, and just chill.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a pretty rational, logic-driven person.  So when my mind gets going all crazy, I love to put it to better use, and think about things.  Cool, complex, rational, logical things.  Like physics.  And mind puzzles.  And web programming.  Yep, I'm a serious nerd.

I was talking with Ansley about this (she's a serious nerd too).  She thinks it makes perfect sense - when the irrational gets too much (ie - emotions running rampant), it's a nice respite to silence the crazy with the reassuring, rational, scientific method.

I have nothing against feelings.  And being all dramatic and emotional is great.  The artist in me loves it and thrives on it.  But next time it gets to be too much, try curling up with some science.  Soooooooo good.

Note: After I write a blog post, I then try to find a LOLcat to match the subject or the mood of the post.  Searching for "LOLcat science" is awesome.  All kinds of good Schrödinger's cat jokes.  (don't know what that is?  Click here.)  LOLcats and quantum mechanics, together at last!  Check these out:
