It's been 6 weeks since my nipple construction surgery, and I'm feeling (and looking) much much better than before. I no longer have to wear the little plastic cups, which is lovely. Honestly, that started to get really annoying. Not because of the plastic cups themselves (I found that I could wear a padded bra and they weren't as noticeable)... but because of all the bandages and tape required to hold the plastic cups in place. Every day I had to redress the bandages, and that started to get massively annoying.
So anyway, I'm glad to have another chapter of the breast reconstruction saga behind me.
I think I like my new nipples. I'm still waiting to see if they "settle" any more. They're a bit big for my liking. I'm gonna give it a few months, and if I need to, go see Dr. Hofer for touch-ups.
I'm super pumped that I can now go bra shopping! I've been wearing the same ratty padded bra for over 6 months. It's from my old boobs, so it fits pretty well, but not perfectly. I was waiting to get a new one because they're expensive (I go to the fancy store for bras - department store ones don't fit right). Now that I have the nipples, I figure this is the shape I'm going to stay (or roughly close). So I can finally go get fitted for a new bra! Yipppeee!

Glad you got through the nipple-helmet phase. Not sure if I want to go 3-D with mine.My old ones were pretty flat anyway.
ReplyDeleteHooray for you! Besides, any reason to go shopping is a good one. I'm glad you're happy with how you're looking :)
